Who we are
SafarSaath is a carpool app for trips between Karachi and Hyderabad. Questions about your data: [email protected].
What we collect, and why
- Phone number: to log you in with a code. It is stored encrypted.
- Name, gender, profile photo and an emergency contact: so travellers know who they are travelling with, for women-only rides, and for SOS.
- CNIC or NICOP photos and a selfie: to verify that you are a real adult. They are encrypted, seen only by our checking team (every look is recorded), and deleted within one hour of the decision. Our team gets an email with your first name when your ID is waiting. From the check we keep: ID type (CNIC or NICOP), the last 4 digits of the ID number, date of birth, the gender on the card (only for women-only rides, never shown to others), who checked it and when.
- Car details (drivers): car, plate and registration, so passengers find the right car.
- Rides, bookings, ratings and strikes: to run the departure board and keep the community fair. Kept while your account exists (see Deleting your account).
- Chat messages: deleted 30 days after the trip, unless a chat has been reported and is being reviewed.
- Location during a live trip: only the last position of each person in the trip, deleted when the trip ends. On Android, a driver who allows it on the trip screen keeps sharing while navigating in another app.
- SOS: when you press SOS we save your position at that moment with the trip, and email our team your first name so someone acts at once.
- Family trip link: if you share one, anyone with the link sees your first name, the driver's first name, the car and plate, the route and the live position, until the trip ends or you stop sharing.
- Network (IP) address: kept 2 days with each login code, to stop abuse. The server's technical logs also hold it for a short time.
- Help questions: deleted 180 days after they are closed.
- A device token for notifications. Notifications in the app are deleted after 30 days.
Website waitlist
If you join the waitlist on this website, we keep your name, WhatsApp number, whether you drive or need a seat, your area and how often you travel. We use them only to tell you when SafarSaath opens and to see which areas to start with. They are stored with Cloudflare, our website host, and seen only by our team. We delete the list at the latest 6 months after the app launches, or sooner if you ask at [email protected].
This website counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you.
Who sees what
- Other travellers see your name, photo, "verified" mark and rating summary. They never see your ID.
- Your phone number is shown only to the people in a confirmed booking, and only on the trip day.
- Our team sees what it needs to check IDs, answer help questions and handle reports and SOS alerts. Every look at personal data is recorded.
- We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
- Service providers process data for us only to run the app: our server host in the European Union, where the app's data is stored; Cloudflare (website, waitlist, domain); Titan (team email); Expo and Google (notifications); and, during the pilot, a phone of ours with a Pakistani SIM that sends the login codes.
Deleting your account
In the app (Profile → Delete my account) or at safarsaath.app/delete-account, confirmed with a code to your number. Upcoming trips must be cancelled first. Your number, name, photo, ID details, chats, location, ratings about you and open requests are deleted at once. Strikes, SOS alerts and chat reports are kept for one year without your name, for safety. If the account had strikes, we keep a coded fingerprint of the number (not the number itself) for 60 days, so a new account can't escape them. Past rides and bookings stay without your name, so other travellers' trip history stays correct. The record of what our team looked at is kept as a security record.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app when the change matters to you.

- SOS: جب آپ SOS دباتے ہیں تو ہم اس وقت کی آپ کی جگہ سفر کے ساتھ محفوظ کرتے ہیں، اور ہماری ٹیم کو آپ کے پہلے نام کے ساتھ ای میل جاتی ہے تاکہ کوئی فوراً مدد کرے۔
- فیملی ٹرپ لنک: اگر آپ یہ لنک بھیجیں تو جس کے پاس لنک ہو وہ آپ کا پہلا نام، ڈرائیور کا پہلا نام، گاڑی اور نمبر پلیٹ، راستہ اور موجودہ جگہ دیکھ سکتا ہے، جب تک سفر ختم نہ ہو یا آپ شیئرنگ بند نہ کریں۔
- نیٹ ورک (IP) ایڈریس: ہر لاگ اِن کوڈ کے ساتھ 2 دن رکھا جاتا ہے، غلط استعمال روکنے کے لیے۔ سرور کے تکنیکی لاگز میں بھی یہ تھوڑے وقت کے لیے رہتا ہے۔
- مدد کے سوالات: بند ہونے کے 180 دن بعد ڈیلیٹ۔
- نوٹیفکیشن کے لیے ڈیوائس ٹوکن۔ ایپ کے اندر نوٹیفکیشن 30 دن بعد ڈیلیٹ ہو جاتے ہیں۔
ویب سائٹ کی ویٹ لسٹ
اگر آپ اس ویب سائٹ پر ویٹ لسٹ میں شامل ہوتے ہیں تو ہم آپ کا نام، واٹس ایپ نمبر، آپ ڈرائیور ہیں یا سیٹ چاہیے، آپ کا علاقہ اور آپ کتنی بار سفر کرتے ہیں، رکھتے ہیں۔ یہ صرف آپ کو سفر ساتھ کھلنے کی خبر دینے اور یہ دیکھنے کے لیے ہیں کہ کن علاقوں سے شروع کریں۔ یہ ہماری ویب سائٹ ہوسٹ Cloudflare کے پاس محفوظ ہیں اور صرف ہماری ٹیم دیکھتی ہے۔ ہم یہ لسٹ ایپ لانچ ہونے کے زیادہ سے زیادہ 6 مہینے بعد ڈیلیٹ کر دیتے ہیں، یا اس سے پہلے اگر آپ [email protected] پر کہیں۔

ایپ میں (پروفائل ← اکاؤنٹ ڈیلیٹ کریں) یا safarsaath.app/delete-account پر، آپ کے نمبر پر آنے والے کوڈ سے تصدیق کے ساتھ۔ آنے والے سفر پہلے کینسل کرنے ہوں گے۔ آپ کا نمبر، نام، تصویر، شناختی تفصیل، چیٹس، لوکیشن، آپ کے بارے میں ریٹنگز اور کھلی درخواستیں فوراً ڈیلیٹ ہو جاتی ہیں۔ حفاظت کے لیے اسٹرائیکس، SOS الرٹس اور چیٹ شکایات ایک سال تک بغیر نام کے رکھی جاتی ہیں۔ اگر اکاؤنٹ پر اسٹرائیکس تھیں تو ہم نمبر کا ایک کوڈ شدہ نشان (خود نمبر نہیں) 60 دن رکھتے ہیں، تاکہ نیا اکاؤنٹ بنا کر اسٹرائیکس سے نہ بچا جا سکے۔ پرانی سواریاں اور بُکنگ بغیر نام کے رہتی ہیں، تاکہ دوسرے مسافروں کی سفر کی تاریخ درست رہے۔ ہماری ٹیم نے کیا دیکھا، اس کا ریکارڈ سیکیورٹی کے لیے رکھا جاتا ہے۔
